Tracking the private jets of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the owner of Wagner which does the dirty jobs for Putin

Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin is the owner of many dodgy companies which do all kind of dirty jobs fot the Putin government. The very wealthy man is the owner of mercenary group known as the Wagner Group which is active in countries like Libya, Central African Republic and Syria. He is also the owner of the troll factory in St. Petersburg called Internet Research Agency.

Prigozhin companies own a couple of business jets which are often spotted in countries friendly to the Putin government. Tracking the movements of these aircraft can reveal some of the activities of the Wagner Group.

All three aircraft linked to Prigozhin were re-registered from tax friendly registers like the Isle of Man and Bermuda to Russia. The reason is not clear but it could be to avoid the aircraft being confiscated as the US has the property of Putin’s friend on a wanted list.

One of the aircraft is a Embraer Legacy 600 registered RA-02795. The aircraft was previously registered as  M-SAAN.   M-SAAN’s registered owner and operator was Autolex Transport Ltd. (Autolex), a company incorporated in the Seychelles. The aircraft seems to be based at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Alexander S. Pushkin International Airport. Somehow the flights are hard to track.

A second aircraft linked to Prigozhin is British Aerospace 125-800B RA-02731, former VP-CSP. Since 2017, Linburg Industries LTD. (Linburg), a company incorporated in the Seychelles, has been the registered owner and operator of VP-CSP.  Between 2017 and 2018, VP-CSP conducted flights throughout Africa, the Middle East, and Europe to include Sudan, the Central African Republic, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, Syria, Germany, Spain, Greece, Finland, Estonia, and Russia.

A third aircraft is Raytheon Hawker 800XP RA-02791 former M-VITO . Between 2017 and 2018, M-VITO conducted numerous flights throughout Africa, the Middle East, and Europe to include Sudan, the Central African Republic, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Libya, Syria, Kenya, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Armenia, Germany, Spain, and Russia.  The operator of the aircraft M-VITO was Beratex Group Limited. The new owner is St. Petersburg-based company, Trans Logistik.

The aircraft was registered in the Russian aircraft register in July 2019.

A fouth aircraft owned by Progizhin could be Embraer Legacy 600 M-ABEC registered to Rozelda Investment Ltd at British Virgin Islands. he aircraft flew Moscow-Misk-Dalaman and continuing towards direction of Sudan. It is based at Moscow/Sheremetyevo.

This is good article on the aircraft.
