Belarus airline Belavia flew many of its aircraft to other countries.

In a new set of sanctions by the EU against the Belarus regime, state owned airline Belavia will probably be hit. The EU will prohibit the leasing of aircraft by EU aircraft leasing firms to Belavia. Aircraft leasing firms anticipated by flying their aicraft out of Belarus and offering the aircraft to other airlines. Two Boeing 737 aircraft seem to be prepared for other airlines. .

According to its website the fleet of Belavia consists of these aircraft

  • 1 – Boeing 737-8;
  • 9 – Boeing 737-800;
  • 1 – Boeing 737-500;
  • 3 – Boeing 737-300;
  • 3 – Embraer 195-E2; all three parked abroad
  • 7 – Embraer 195;
  • 5 – Embraer 175LR; all 5 parked abroad

20 of these aircraft are leased from companies based in Ireland. These are

  • AerCap. Belavia leases three Boeing 737s and three Embraer ERJ190 aircraft.
  • SMBC Aviation Capital Limited. One 737-800 aircraft.
  • Thunderbolt Aircraft Lease Limited. One 737-800.
  • Nordic Aviation Capital (Denmark-based company but headquartered in Ireland). Leases four ERJ 170 and three ERJ 190 aircraft.

Belavia also leases an aircraft from US company Wng Capital LLC and US company Air Lease Corporation (ALC). CH-aviation has an overview of the leased aircraft.

Now lets see which aircraft were flown to other countries recently. Al 12 flights which left the fleet were using flightnumbers in the range of BRU20xx serie

  • Embraer E195-E2 EW-555PO leased from an unknown company flew on October 26 to Nur Sultan in Kazakhstand and is still there (Nov 23)

  • Boeing 737-800 EW-526PA, leased from Wng Capital, flew on November 8 to Istanbul and did not leave (ADSBexchange)
  • Boeing 737-800 EW-438PA, leased from US based Air Lease Corporation (ALC) flew on November 9 from Minsk to Istanbul and did not leave since. (ADSBexchange). At December 1 the aircraft flew Istanbul-Woensdrecht with new registration T7-438
  • Boeing 737-800 EW-437PA, leased from an unknow company, flew on November 10 from Minsk to Istanbul and did not depart. (ADSBexchange)
  • Boeing 737-800 EW-543PA, leased from SMBC Aviation Capital , flew on November 11 from Minsk to Istanbul and did not depart (ADSBexchange). On November 30 it flew from Istanbul to Ostrava with new registration EI-GYP.

Per November 23 some of the leased aircraft will still flying. Boeing 737-800 EW-527PA leased from Carlyle Aviation flew Minks-Hurghada. Boeing 737-800 EW-254PA leased from an unknow company flew to Tashkent. Embraer 195LR EW-545PO leased from NAC flew to Nur-Sultan on a regular flightnumber.

EW-513PO, EW-400PO, EW-544PA flew at December 1. Not sure if these are leased.
